How Much Does a Corporate Film or Brand Film Cost in Kolkata? (2026 Pricing Guide)
If you’ve searched this question, you’ve probably already found five websites that say a corporate film “starts at ₹50,000” and stops there. That number is true and useless at the same time – it tells you nothing about what your film will cost.
We’re Brrandom Studio, a director-led production studio based in Salt Lake, Sector V, Kolkata. We quote corporate films, brand films, and TVCs for a living, for clients ranging from hospitals to steel manufacturers to ed-tech companies. This is the breakdown we actually walk clients through in our first call – not a marketing number.
Why “cost per minute” is the wrong question
Most pricing guides sell you on cost-per-minute of finished video. In practice, a 2-minute film can cost ₹60,000 or ₹6,00,000, and both can be “correct” – because the price isn’t really about runtime. It’s about five variables:
- Pre-production depth – is this a script written in an afternoon, or a story built from stakeholder interviews, location scouting, and multiple creative rounds?
- Crew size and skill level – a single shooter-editor vs. a director, DOP, gaffer, sound recordist, and assistants
- Locations and logistics – one office interior vs. a multi-location shoot across a factory floor, a hospital, and an outdoor unit
- Cast – internal staff on camera vs. professional actors or a known face (we’ve worked with actors like Saswata Chatterjee on client films, which changes both budget and impact)
- Post-production complexity – a straight edit vs. colour grading, sound design, motion graphics, and multiple platform cuts (16:9 for web, 9:16 for reels, 1:1 for social)
Two films of the same length, done properly, can differ by 4-5x in cost depending on these five factors alone.
Realistic price bands for Kolkata (2026)
These are ranges we see across the Kolkata and Eastern India market, not national averages that assume Mumbai or Delhi day rates:
₹40,000 – ₹1,20,000 – Simple corporate/testimonial films One location, one day of shoot, internal spokespeople, straightforward edit. Good for: internal comms, a single testimonial, a basic “about us” page video.
₹1,20,000 – ₹3,50,000 – Standard brand/corporate films Proper pre-production, 1-2 shoot days, a small crew, light graphics, a considered script. This is where most B2B companies and mid-sized brands land. Good for: website hero films, investor decks, product launch films.
₹3,50,000 – ₹8,00,000+ – Story-led brand films and TVCs Multi-location shoots, professional cast, cinematic lighting and camera packages, custom music, colour grading, and a script built around an actual narrative rather than a feature list. This is the band where a film stops being “content” and starts doing real brand-building work – the kind of work that gets shared, not just viewed.
₹8,00,000 and above – Campaign-scale TVCs Multi-day shoots, known talent, agency-grade production value, media-buy-ready cuts across formats. Typically for companies planning paid distribution, not just organic or website use.
What actually moves you up or down a band
- Number of revision rounds you need on the script and edit
- Whether you need multiple cuts (a 90-second hero film, a 30-second cutdown, and 3 vertical reels are three different deliverables, not one)
- Travel and location permissions – a factory shoot in an industrial belt outside Kolkata costs differently than a studio shoot in Sector V
- Turnaround time – a 10-day rush job costs more than a film with a realistic 4-6 week production window
- Whether you’re hiring a freelancer, an agency, or a studio – a solo freelancer will always quote lower than a full studio, but you’re also trading away a director, a dedicated editor, and quality control across the whole pipeline
The three questions that actually tell you if a quote is fair
- Does the quote break down pre-production, production, and post-production separately? If a quote is one lump number with no scope attached, you have no way to know what happens when the scope changes mid-project – and it usually does.
- How many revision rounds are included? “Unlimited revisions” sounds generous but usually means the studio pads the base price to cover it. A clear number (typically 2-3 rounds) is a better sign of an honest quote.
- Who is actually on the crew? Ask who directs, who shoots, and who edits. A lower quote that removes a dedicated director from the process isn’t a discount – it’s a different, riskier product.
Why we quote the way we do
At Brrandom, we work as a studio, not an agency – which in practice means an in-house team of 55+ across writers, directors, cinematographers, and editors, rather than a project manager subcontracting your film out to a rotating cast of freelancers. Our estimates are broken into pre-production, shoot days, and post-production line by line, because we’d rather you understand exactly what you’re paying for than sign off on a number you can’t defend to your own leadership.
Get a real number, not a range
If you want a quote scoped to your actual film – not a website range – send us a short brief: what the film is for, who it’s for, and roughly how long you’re picturing it. We’ll come back with a line-item estimate and, if it’s useful, a quick call to talk through the story before you commit to a number.

FAQs
No. A corporate film typically communicates information – who you are, what you do, your process or facilities. A brand film is built to create an emotional connection and is closer to storytelling than reporting. Pricing for brand films is usually higher because the pre-production and creative work involved is more intensive.
Yes, for a very simple, single-location, single-day shoot with minimal post-production. It’s a reasonable option for internal videos or a basic company profile, but it won’t carry the production value needed for a public-facing brand campaign.
Generally yes, day rates and crew costs in Kolkata and Eastern India tend to run lower than in Mumbai, Delhi, or Bangalore, though the gap narrows for high-end productions requiring specialised equipment or well-known talent.
A standard corporate film typically takes 3-5 weeks from brief to final delivery. Story-led brand films and TVCs with multiple locations or cast can take 6-10 weeks.
A clear quote should separate pre-production (script, storyboard, planning), production (crew, equipment, shoot days), and post-production (editing, grading, sound, graphics), along with the number of revision rounds included.
